Company History

Michelle L. Walters founded Liberty Construction Services (LCS) as a multi-facetted construction company in 1993. LCS provided builders and homeowners with many installed services ranging from commercial steel doors to residential windows and siding. Michelle noticed after a few years that the closet shelving market was growing fast and eventually made it the focus of LCS. At the same time, she applied to become a certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE). With Michelle’s business sense and husband Chuck’s cabinet making and construction skills, LCS became an established custom closet design, cabinetry and garage business in Westmoreland County and surrounding areas.

Over time operations were scaled to meet the demands of more than 100 builders in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland.  In 2006 LCS incorporated and became known as Liberty Closet Systems, Inc.   In 18 years time, Liberty Closet Systems, Inc. has grown from a single designer/installer to a full staff of designers, fabricators and installers specializing in custom closet design and storage systems. Today we operate from our own 11.000 sq. ft. commercial building that includes a wood shop where we fabricate our line of custom wood shelving and casement pieces.   Liberty Closet Systems, Inc.  is also a dealer for Schulte storage products.
